Welcome to the Tullamore Canoe Club website. TuCC is 17 years old this year, and we have a wide variety of activities planned for the next couple of months so keep an eye on our Events page for details, and follow us on Facebook for photos, chats and event postings, or view our videos on YouTube. Our events include Kayaking and Canoeing training, River Safety and Rescue training, Rolling Clinics, social events, away trips and much more. We are very proud of our paddlers who excelled in the Special Olympics last year and who are participating in the National event this year.
We are looking forward to one of our major events each year – Paddlefest in Hidden Valley in Wicklow in Sept. This weekend offers paddlers to participate in 8 different paddling sports and for the more advanced paddlers to participate in very exciting river trips in Wicklow. The camping and social aspects of the weekend are great fun and brilliant craic.
We are thrilled to be working out of the 27th Lockhouse in Tullamore, and to have a fixed base at last. Unfortunately the house itself is in very poor state, and not really usable without a major overhaul. We are looking at outside changing rooms and bathrooms, but we are restrained by financial resources at this stage. We wish to thank Waterways Ireland for the use of the property.
Be sure to visit our Gallery for photos of past events, and all our forms are available on the Download page. If you would like to get involved in our our club please contact us, or chat to one of the TuCC Committee members.
TuCC aims to provide high quality training and events to it’s members, and to do this at as low a cost as possible. Our leaders all work voluntarily, so we are totally dependent on fundraising, donations and grants. If you would like to contribute in any way to the club (financial, equipment or work), please contact us. We would like to thank the DOS for past financial contributions to our club that allows us to buy equipment and trailers etc.
Yours in paddling
