To provide access to canoeing equipment and training
To promote and encourage participation in the sport of canoeing
The Club should be conscious of its role in the local community.

The Organisation
The organisation is a non-profit community based organisation and is affiliated with the Irish Canoe Union – the national governing body of canoeing - and bases its syllabus and safety and other guidelines on the standards set by the ICU. The Steering committee runs the club and makes decisions based on it’s particular responsibilities. A standard constitution based on an existing Canoe Club has been adopted for guidelines as well as club rules, AGM, structure, offices etc. These roles will hopefully be filled from volunteers. The organisation will be self-sufficient after start-up and will be financed from fees for membership, training courses and fundraising.

The club aims to provide a safe learning environment to improve and develop skills and co-ordination, physical health, awareness of nature and Ireland’s vast wealth of navigatable waterways, to provide access to equipment and training and to promote the sport of canoeing. /a>
